Objective-C Classes and Metaclasses

I had intended to eventually put together a brief post on the Objective-C runtime, specifically the class system structure, but Greg Parker over at the Hamster Emporium has beaten me to it with his recent article, Classes and metaclasses. This is fine with me, as my primary objectives were just to correct the errors in Nat’s diagram and provide background information for the forthcoming description of my implementation of class variables for Objective-C, which I will get around to posting one of these days. Greg has probably explained this subject better than I could, anyway. In any case, I thought I’d go ahead and post the diagram that I had prepared, which is equivalent to Greg’s diagram, but, as in Nat’s diagram, uses concrete example classes with metaclass names as they would appear in an actual Objective-C program.
