According to this article at the Reg. the C= lives! Called the e-Vic, in hommage to the C= Vic-20, it’s pretty standard fare for a portable MP3 player with a couple points of note: it’s batteries supposedly last for 10-15 hours of playback (not too shabby), and it packs in a 20GB drive (!!!).
Is it time to get rid of your iPod? Probably not, but for ‘Old Skool’ C= junkies like me it is enough to get me to pass on an iPod.
Also of note. They are also planning releasing the m-Pet which is a Flash-based MP3 player and the f-Pet which is a USB flash drive.
Their music download store is already up and running at Commodore World if you have any intrest in checking them out. To give you an idea, you can get The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers album for € 12,00 or € 1,20 per track. Depending on exchange rates that is pretty typical.
Long live the C=!!!
